Sony Pictures confirmed today that The Tourist will be released in the US on December 10, 2010.

The upcoming drama-thriller, directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck – who was responsible for the Academy Award-winning The Lives of Others – stars Johnny Depp (Alice In Wonderland), Angelina Jolie (Salt), Paul Bettany (Legion), Timothy Dalton (Toy Story 3), Rufus Sewell (The Holiday), Steven Berkoff (44 Inch Chest) and Raoul Bova (Baaria).

Synopsis: The Tourist revolves around Frank (Depp), an American tourist visiting Italy to mend a broken heart. Elise (Jolie) is an extraordinary woman who deliberately crosses his path in order to mislead all those following her former lover. Against the breathtaking backdrop of Venice, Frank pursues a potential romance but soon finds himself the pursued as he and Elise are caught in a whirlwind of intrigue and danger.

Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp traded the night shoot shroud of secrecy for broad daylight filming The Tourist in Venice yesterday. They both flashed smiles on their way home from set, he in his trademark leather jacket and she in a stylish Ferragamo coat. Beyond filming, Angelina also spent posed for a Patrick Demarchelier photo spread earlier this week while we’ve gotten a few rare peeks at Johnny’s family life. The gorgeous costars are perennially considered among Hollywood’s most beautiful and even with the exciting projects they have coming up, seeing the two together on screen is something fantastic to look forward to.

Continuing work on “The Tourist,” Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp were spotted on the new scene in Venice, Italy .
They filmed scenes in a Motoscafo boat on the Grand Canal.
(April 12)

and Johnny Depp is expected  head to the Cannes Film Festival next month in France. Brad is also  expected to hed to the Cannes.

Never afraid to take control, Angelina Jolie hopped behind the wheel of a boat on Friday while shooting a new scene for The Tourist.
Looking gorgeous in a form-fitting gray dress, Jolie was ready for her close up after getting help from a crew member who gave the boat a slight push to get it moving.
Between takes, she got a quick makeup touch up and was all smiles as she chatted with crew members.
Angelina has been in Italy for weeks shooting the thriller alongside her co-star Johnny Depp.
The plot revolves around Frank (Depp), a tourist who visits Italy to mend a broken heart, who crosses paths with “an extraordinary woman” named Elise
(Jolie). Soon, the duo are “caught up in a whirlwind of intrigue and danger” according to a press release for the film.

The 34-year-old star has made headlines over the past few days in her relationships with the men in her life. On Sunday in Venice, Italy, she reunited with her estranged father Jon Voight after a long feud. And as for those never-ending marriage-on-the-rocks rumors, she presented a united front with husband Brad Pitt over the weekend, as they traveled through Europe with their kids.
Jolie stars in this summer’s Salt, in which she plays a CIA agent accused of being a Russian spy. The film hits theaters July 23.
