Angie will reportedly play Marilyn Monroe in an adaptation of the novel “The Life and Opinions of Maf the Dog, and of His Friend Marilyn Monroe,” a chronicle of the last two years of Marilyn’s life through the eyes of her pet pooch, Maf.
UPDATE: When asked about the Marilyn rumors, Angie shared on the red carpet, “I don’t know, it’s a rumor right now. You’ll probably know before me!”

Hollywood star Angelina Jolie has pledged to “do what she can” for flood-ravaged Pakistan.
The Oscar-winning actress, 35, was asked what she would do in her role as goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) as she promoted her new action thriller, Salt, in London’s West End.
“I’m doing what I can. I’m talking to Ambassador [Richard] Holbrooke, the UN and people on the ground about how we can spend our money,” she said at the film’s premiere in Leicester Square.
Jolie, who arrived without long-term partner Brad Pitt, added: “It’s unravelling every minute, it seems to be getting worse so we’re trying to keep track of it.”
The Changeling star is considering all her options and listening to advisers.
“A lot of people say it is important to visit but maybe in a month or two when the cameras go away – we don’t know when is the best time. We’re just going to keep on it and listen and take advice from the people on the ground as to what is best to do.”
Shimmering in a silver sequinned floor-length gown by Amanda Wakeley and Salvatore Ferragamo heels, Jolie thanked the thousands of fans who had waited for her – some camped out for 27 hours.
In Salt, which also stars Liev Schreiber and Chiwetel Ejiofor, she plays a CIA officer who goes on the run after being accused of being a Russian spy
“I love doing action and I think that when you like what you do, it’s contagious and hopefully people will like it too,” she said.
“I love it – I love to punch things, jump off things and shoot, so I’m lucky I got the job.”

Jolie, who arrived in Moscow with her four children, walked on the red carpet of the Moscow’s Oktyabr cinema, where the premiere was held, posed for photographers and talked to her fans, Russia 24 TV channel reported.
The movie star told journalists that she likes Russia and Russian people, and when she went up on stage at the cinema, she greeted the audience with “Dobry vecher,” Russian for “good evening.”
Jolie told the media that she is for good relations between Russia and US. As for the latest spy scandal, she added, the presidents tackled it quite efficiently.
“I am somebody who is a little political,” said Jolie. “I love positive relationships between America and Russia, and all the good things.”
“I did not focus too much on the scandal,” she added. “Except I thought it was handled really well by our presidents and kind of very quickly.”
Prior to the visit Jolie agreed to several exclusive photo sessions for Russian photographers. She also plans to do some sightseeing while in the Russian capital, Russia 24 reported.
However, the star’s arrival in the Russian capital has already been marred by scandal. The management of the Ritz Carlton hotel, where Jolie is staying, had to fire one of its employees for attempting to take a photo of the star.

She’s always possessed a certain mystique, and Angelina Jolie says it’s because she’s a little off of her rocker.
“There’s certainly a side of me that isn’t completely… sane. Or completely ‘even’ all the time. We all have our dark sides.”
Jolie continued, “I grew up in front of everybody, really… the big years of exploration,” therefore everyone got to see her fumbling to cope with her fame.
“People tend to sum up times in your life and simplify. I would say there’s a way of being bold when you’re young that seems very brave. … What’s perceived as tough is a very funny thing. I think to be a parent is one of the scariest, boldest things to do, as opposed to, um, getting a tattoo. … Much more than jumping into a pool when you’re 20.”

The movie is about a CIA agent, Evelyn Salt (Jolie), who is accused of being a Russian spy and spends the rest of the movie alternately trying to escape and prove her identity. The actors talked about some of the difficulties they faced making movie.
Jolie, who did her own stunts, said that during “one of the easiest stunts,” she rolled into a desk and cut her head.
For a minute, she thought she had really hurt herself because she couldn’t hear anything, she said.
“I’d forgotten I had my earplugs in, for the gun,” she said to laughter.
Schreiber said he was less eager to do action stunts than Jolie. Before he agrees to do a stunt, he said he thinks about how long he’s going to end up spending with his feet in ice, whether he’s going to hurt his back and whether he’s going to tear his clothes.
